WAVE TV: WAVE TV Louisville signed on in 1948 on channel 5 as the first television station in Kentucky. The move to channel 3 was in 1953. On a historical note, May 7, 1949 WAVE TV became the first TV station in the USA present a live production of the Kentucky Derby. Studios are located at 725 South Floyd Street.

WBKI TV: Channel 34 Louisville came on the air in 1983 as WGRB. The change to WWWB was in 1999, but a year later the calls were changed to WKBI-TV. They are a CW affiliate. The screen grabs are from 2013.

WBKO TV: Channel 13 Bowling Green came on the air in 1962 as WLTV which stood for Wonderful Live TV. In 1971 the calls were changed to WBKO which stands for We're Bowling Green, Kentucky's Own. 13.1 is an ABC affiliate, 13.2 is Fox, and 13.3 is CW. Studios are located at 2727 Russellville Road. WBNA TV: WBNA TV Channel 21 came on the air in 1986. They are an Ion Television affiliate. Plus they offer 5 sub channels. The screen grab is from 2013.

WBVR: 96.7 Auburn came on the air in 1992 as WBZD. Calls were changed to WMJM in 1994 and then to KBVR in 1994. The photos of the "Beaver 96.7" vehicles are from 2013.

WCBL: WCBL Radio 1290 Benton was started in 1954 by Shelby McCallum as noted on the Kentucky Historical Society marker in front of the
studios. The 1980 movie 'Coal Miner's Daughter' about Loretta Lynn featured a radio control room scene, that was filmed at WCBL. The building on
Eggners Ferry Road also houses WCBL-FM. The photos are from 2015.

WCVG: 1320 Covington came on the air in 1965 as WCLU. New ownership in 1987 changed the calls to WCVG. Their transmitter and towers are located behind a shopping area on Winston Avenue, photos taken in 2013 from West 38th Street. This is just south of Cincinnati, Ohio and serves that market.

WCVX: This station started out as WFKB on 1180 in 1984, changing to WMLX in 1987. As WMLX the frequency changed to 1160 in 1993 and changed call sto WBND. In 1995 the calls were changed again, this time to WKYN, then to WBOB in 1997. In 2006 they changed to WDJQ, and 2009 to WQRT. In early 2013 the calls changed to WCVX. Their four tower array is located just north of highway 127 near Fowler Creek Road as seen in this photo from 2013.

WDDJ: 96.9 FM Paducah started in 1978 as WPAD-FM. In 1980 the call letters were changed to WDDJ. Known as "Electric 96.9" the station
broadcasts a Top 40 - CHR music format. A WDDJ vehicle was seen while in Paducah in 2015.

WDRB TV: WDRB TV Channel 41 Louisville came on the air in 1971. Originally an independent station, they are now a Fox affiliate. The screen grabs are from 2013.

WDXR: 1450 Radio Paducah was WPAD until 1978 when WDXR on 1560 swapped places with WPAD 1450. Now 1450 is WDXR and their transmitter and
tower are located at 1700 North 8th Street where WZZL FM and WREZ FM are located. Studios for WDXR 1450 are located with other Bristol stations, see WKYX
below. The station is known as Lifetalk 1450. The tower photo is from 2015.

WGTK: 970 Louisville came on the air in 1933. WAVE AM changed calls to WGTK. Their transmitter and towers are located in Jeffersonville, Indiana on Hamburg Pike as seen in these photos from 2013.

WHAS: WHAS Radio Louisville came on the air in 1922 on 350, in 1932 they moved to 820. The move to 840 was in 1941. On May 16, 1925 WHAS aired the very first live broadcast of the Kentucky Derby. The transmitter and tower are located along Flat Rock Road east of Louisville as seen in these photos from 2013. Studios are located at 4000 Radio Drive.

WHBE: 680 Newburg came on the air in 1992 as WXKN. In 1997 the calls were changed to WNAI, and in 1999 to WJIE. In 2002 they changed to WDRD and finally in 2011 to WHBE. Their transmitter and towers are located on Mud Lane east of I-65 as seen in this photo from 2013.

WHOP: WHOP Radio 1230 Hopkinsville broadcasts a news talk format on 1230 and W237BV 95.3 FM. WHOP-FM 98.7 is also located in the building
on Princeton Road. The WHOP 1230 tower also has W237BV and a WHOP=FM backup antenna. The photos are from 2015.

WKDZ: WKDZ Radio 1110 Cadiz broadcasts an oldies format shared with WHVO Hopkinsville. WKDZ started in 1966. The transmitter and tower

WKRD: 790 Louisville started out at WGRC. In 1958 they changed calls to WAKY when Top 40 format legand Gordon McLendon purchased the station. Calls changed to WVEZ, WWKY, WXXA, and then to WKRD. A WKRD vehicle was spotted in 2013.

WKYX: Bristol Broadcasting located at 6000 WKYX/WKYQ Road in Paducah is home to a number of stations including WKYX 570. The two towers for
WKYX 570 are located at this site. Unable to take a photo of both towers in the same picture, one tower can be seen behind the building, the other to the
side of the building as seen in these photos from 2015. Studios for WKYQ 93.3 FM, WDDJ "Electric 96.9" FM, WZYK 94.7 "The Mix" FM, WKYX 570 and WKYX
94.3 FM. WLLE 102.1 "Willie" FM, WPAD 1560 (see WPAD below) and WPAD 99.5 "The Fan" FM, and WDXR 1450 "Life Talk" (see WDXR above) are located in this building.

WLAP: WLAP Radio 630 Lexington started out in 1922 in Louisville. The move of the facility to Lexington happened in 1931. The transmitter site is located on Russell Cave Road as seen in 2023. This is also the location for WLAP-FM, WMXL-FM, and WKQQ-FM. WLAP 930 uses 4 towers. The video of the towers is from 2023.

WLXG: 1300 Radio Lexington started out in 1945 as WKLX. The call letters were changed to WLEX (WLEX calls had been on 1340) in 1952. In 1958 they changed to WBLG and then in 1979 to WTKC. In 1986 the call letters changed to WLXG. The transmitter and towers are locagted along Greendale Road as seen in the photos from 2023.

WMYO TV: Channel 58 Louisville came on the air in 1994 as WFTE. In 2006 the call letters were changed to WMYO. They are an MyNetworkTV affiliate. The on air screen grabs are from 2013.

WNKY TV: Channel 40 Bowling Green started out as WQQB in 1989. Calls were changed to WNKY in 1992. The station broadcasts NBC on 40.1 and CBS on 40.2 as seen in the on air screen grabs from 2013. Studios are located at 325 Emmett Avenue as seen in the photos from 2013.

WOFC: 1130 Murray has seen numerous call signs from WSJP from 1976 until 2000, then WRKY until 2006 and WJGY for a year. In 2007 the
calls were changed to WOFC "The Office." They broadcast ESPN Sports. Studios, transmitter, and two towers are located on Diuguid Drive as seen in the
photos from 2015. This is also the location for WFGS FM (see above) and WNBS 1340 (see above) studios.

WPAD: 1560 Paducah had been WDXR (see above) for a number of years (see above) and now as WPAD they are part of Bristol Broadcasting. Their
transmitter site on Bechtdolt Road looked quite run down in 2015 when these photos were taken. Only one of the original four towers remain and that
looks like it hadn't been painted in a long time.

WPSD TV: WPSD TV Channel 6 Paducah came on the air in 1957. The station has been owned by the Paxton family and an NBC affiliate during
its entire broadcast history. Studios are located at 100 Television Lane as seen in the photos from 2015. The print ad is from 1979.

WTFX: WTFX FM 93.1 "The Fox" is licensed to Clarksville, Indiana, but serves the Louisville market. The photo of a WTFX vehicle is from 2013.

WUHU: 107.1 FM came on the air in 1985 as WBLG and changed to WUHU in 2001. The two photos of WUHU vehicles are from 2013.

WUKY: FM 91.3 Lexington came on the air in 1940 as WBKY located in Beatyville. They moved to Lexington in 1944. In 1989 the call letters were changed to WUKY FM (W University of KentuckY). The WUKY FM sign photo is from 2023.

WVLK: WVLK Radio 590 Lexington started out in 1947. Their transmitter site is located on Yarnallton Pike as seen in the photos from 2023.

WWTF: 1380 Radio Georgetown started out in 1957 as WGOR. This facility has seen many call letter changes over the years. WGOR, WAXU, WTKT, WBBE, WTKT, WSNE, WXRA, WGVN. In 2012 the call letters were changed to WWTF. Their transmitter and tower site is located on Ironworks Road south-west of Georgetown as seen in the photo from 2023.

WYMC: WYMC Radio 1430 Mayfield has a four tower transmitter site on State Highway 1276 as seen in the photo from 2015.

WZZL: WZZL FM 106.7 is licensed to Redland, but served Paducah and has studios in Paducah at 1700 North 8th Street. This is also the
location for WREZ-FM 105.5 licensed to Metropolis, Illinois. Plus, the transmitter and tower for WDXR 1450 are at this location (see WDXR above).
