KRKX: 94.1 Billings started out as KFBA on September 9, 1982. The call letters were changed to KRKX on July 13, 1989. KRKX has gone through ownership and format changes over the years. Firsher Broadcasting sold to Cherry Creek Radio in 2006 and later to Connoisseur Media. Studios are located at 2075 Central Avenue. Gone are the days of rock music as "Montana's Home of Rock 'n Roll" and great DJs like Sam Talkington. On January 1, 2010 KRKX changed their format to country using the "K-Sky" branding.
